About Me

Hello everyone,

My name is Zumri, and I the English teacher at SMAIT Al Fityah Pekanbaru (Integrated Islamic Senior High School), located on Swakarya Street, Tuah Karya, Panam, Pekanbaru, Indonesia.

I was born in Bandar Sungai, a small village in Siak Sri Indrapura Regency, Riau Province, on July 18, 1983. My mother is Mrs. Maryati, and my late father was Mr. Mintar. I come from a big family with ten siblings—four brothers and six sisters—and I am the seventh child.

I am happily married to Mrs. Tengku Makhtum, S.Psi. Alhamdulillah, Allah has blessed us with four wonderful children: Zayyan Zainul Muttaqin, Zidny Hudan Muttaqin, Zahid Shohibul Muttaqin, and our only daughter, Zulfa Kamila Taqiyya.

I have been teaching English since 2006, and it has been a rewarding journey. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to teach at different educational levels within the YPPSDI Al Fityah Pekanbaru Foundation. I taught at SDIT Al Fityah from 2006 to 2014, then at SMPIT Al Fityah from 2014 to 2021. Since 2021, I have been teaching at SMAIT Al Fityah, where I continue to help students develop their English skills and confidence in using the language.

For me, teaching English is more than helping students learn grammar and vocabulary. It is about inspiring them to communicate confidently, think critically, and connect with people from different cultures around the world. I believe that English is more than a subject—it is a bridge that connects us to the world.
